BAD NEWS ALERT! The feds very suddenly cancelled their successful Eco Energy Retrofit Rebate program at 5pm March 31 with zero notice. If you got your first audit done before that date you're in the clear. Otherwise, check with your home province for ongoing rebates near you.
Tell the government what you think about the cancellation!

p. 159 Light dimming clarification: Dimming incandescents by 10% doubles the bulb's life. Dimming a dimmable CFL would not have the same benefit.

p. 99 On November 20, 2009, the National Organic Standards Board gave the greenlight to labeling fish with the USDA organic label, despite criticisms that organic fish should not be fed wild fish feed (only certified organic feed) and that open net cages damage the health of the oceans.
p. 279 Look for the new national Cash for Clunkers program! If you have a car that’s less than 25 years old and gets less than 18 miles per gallon, you could be eligible for a $4,500 voucher if you trade it in for a more fuel efficient car. cashforclunkersinformation.org
ECOHOLIC (CANADIAN EDITION):
Homemade Toothpaste Recipe on p. 20 should read "6 TEASPOONS of baking soda", not tablespoons. Sorry gang! It'll be pretty powdery otherwise. Oh and feel free to experiment with less salt and more essential oils if you like.
Sidebar on p. 53 should read "Fire-Curing Tobacco: One tree is axed for every 300 cigarettes." Yes, that means cigarettes are still bad for the planet.
